I just can't help it. This past week has been a rollercoaster! Josh was sick then better and then sick again. I think I changed 9 diapers that day. Then we spent Doug's long weekend in St. George where we took Josh swimming, let him play outside in the milder weather, watched movies, slept in a King-size bed and ate, and ate and ate some more! It was a fun quick little getaway.
With a very beautiful surprise ending! Monday morning we went to the Bear Paw for breakfast. This place is a family favorite and quickly becoming our tradition. I couldn't believe how much food we were all able to put away. Throughout the last week I have been feeling kind of... funny... for lack of a better word. Suddenly it popped into my head that I might be pregnant. Then it became a nagging thought. It sure would make sense. My hair and skin have been oilier. I have been thirsty, my blood sugar has dropped like no other. All through breakfast I couldn't shrug the thought. We stopped at Smith's to get a pregnancy test and headed to the house.
Doug kept asking, "do you have to pee yet?" And finally I did. I went in and took the test. I patiently watched the stick. The fluid crept across the window and a faint little plus sign started to appear. It got darker. "Doug!" I screamed, "We're pregnant!" Josh was so scared by my excitement that he began to cry and hid behind the door in the doorjamb.
It really was the perfect ending to a wonderful trip. I'm not very far along, so it's pushing it to be posting this on our blog, but I'm just too excited.
